I'm planning on getting some games like Star Wars Battlefront, and Halo and some others, but what I really want to know is if Xbox Live is also enabled for Backwards Compatible Xbox Games, because if they're not.. what's the point?

All backwards compatible games that work on the Xbox 360 will work like on the original console.
This means, you will be able to play Halo 2, SW Battlefront and others on Xbox Live like on the original console.
